This page explains how to request deletion of your NaijaRent account and describes which data is removed, which may be retained, and how long the process takes. Your rights are protected under the Nigerian Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
How to Delete Your Account
Compose an email to our Data Protection Officer
Send an email to dpo@naijarent.net using the email address associated with your NaijaRent account. Requests sent from a different address cannot be verified and will not be processed.
Use the required subject line
Set the email subject to exactly:
Account Deletion RequestInclude your name (optional but recommended)
Mention the name on your account in the email body. This speeds up the identity verification step. We may reply to confirm your identity before proceeding.
Wait for confirmation
We will acknowledge your request by email within 3 business days. Deletion will be completed within 30 days of verification. You will receive a final confirmation once your account has been deleted.

What Data Is Deleted
Upon successful verification and processing, the following data is permanently and irreversibly removed from our systems:

| Notifications | All in-app notification records associated with your account |
| Session Data | All active and past login sessions, device tokens, and authentication records |
| Social Login Links | OAuth account links (Google, Apple, etc.) connected to your profile |
What May Be Retained
In limited circumstances, certain data is retained after account deletion. This is required by Nigerian law or is necessary for marketplace integrity. In all cases, the data is either anonymized or legally obligated to be kept.
Property Listings (Anonymized)
Property listings you published may be anonymized — your personal details are removed and replaced with a generic attribution — rather than deleted outright. This preserves marketplace continuity for renters who have enquired about or saved those properties. No personally identifiable information is retained on the listing.
Transaction Records (7-Year Retention)
Financial and billing records are retained for 7 years as required by the Federal Inland Revenue Service Act (FIRS) and the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020. These records are held securely, are not used for marketing, and are only disclosed to tax or regulatory authorities if legally compelled.
Anonymized Analytics Data
Aggregated, anonymized analytics (e.g. “number of searches for 3-bedroom flats in Lagos in Q1 2026”) may be retained indefinitely. This data contains no personal identifiers and cannot be used to re-identify you.
Processing Time
Acknowledgement: We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days of receiving it.
Verification: We may need to verify your identity before proceeding. This typically involves a reply email from our DPO.
Deletion: Your account and personal data will be deleted within 30 days of identity verification.
Confirmation: You will receive a final email confirming that deletion is complete.
Your Rights Under NDPA 2023
The Nigerian Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023 grants you the right to request erasure of your personal data held by NaijaRent (Kordex Solutions Limited, RC 9438853). We are committed to honouring this right promptly and transparently. If you believe your request has not been handled correctly, you may lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) at ndpc.gov.ng.
